The Bone Garden Review

This was another one of those random finds, and i swear those are the best kinds of books! This book caught my attention because of the cover, then i read the description and was hooked! This book bounces between Boston 1830's and present time, but you understand when it is 1830 or present time with each chapter. In the beginning of the book we are seeing things through the eyes of this woman named Julia, she is currently working in her garden trying to hack away at a "rock." Very quickly she realizes that it's no rock she is hacking away at but a human skull. While the police are there investagiting they confirm her worst nightmare, that those are human remains, and have been buried there for a long time. They found several things with the body that did not match our time period, and could date them back to the late 1800's-1900's. The book then goes back into 1830's time and we begin to learn about Norris, Rose, Meggie. You learn to fall in love with Norris and Rose, and become part of their adventure in this book. Rose's sister just had a baby Meggie, sadly she dies shortly after childbirth, and now their is a madman killing woman out there, a grave snatcher, and a husband desperate to find the child to sell her off to the highest bidder. You not only hear and follow their story, you learn why so many woman died during this time period, and how things began to change in the medical world for the better.
This was a amazing read, another book that i couldn't put down!
HAPPY READING!
