Individuality vs. Conformity
Identity vs. Access
Freedom vs. Control
The bar code tattoo. Everybody's getting it. It will make your life easier, they say. It will hook you in. It will become your identity.
But what if you say no? What if you don't want to become a code? For Kayla, this one choice changes everything. She becomes an outcast in her high school. Dangerous things happen to her family. There's no option but to run...for her life.
This book begins very quickly and captures you till the very end.
I found that you are able to understand how this book goes, if you think about it how far off are we from the bar code tattoo that not only tracks everything you do, but tells you things about your DNA and medical records that you dont even know yet?
This book shows how we evolved from SSN, Drivers License, Credit cards- to future 2020-2025 where the have e-cards, which stored all their money- paper money no longer existed. Cell phones became a thing of the past since everything became electronic. The bar code tattoo became something that anyone who turned 17 would get, at first it wasn't mandatory, but that soon changed. The government was over taken by a company called Global-1 who ran everything from the food you put on your table to your money and even your health. The bar code tattoo was just suppose to store your banking, and ID you except it stored much more than anyone realized.
Follow Kayla along her journey to resist the bar code tattoo and the group she joins called the decoders, watch as people she trust turn their back on her, stab her in the back, and even traitors among them. This story will stay with you and you will be rushing to read the next 2 books in the series, I am currently waiting for the other 2 books from the library. But i will be posting again soon !

After the Ending
Book Series #1
"The Virus spread. Billions died. The Ending began. We may have survived the apocalypse, but the Virus changed us.
When people started getting sick, "they" thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family...they're all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them--with the rest of the world--but I didn't. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I'd ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O'Connor, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.
The Virus changed everything. The world I knew is gone, and life is backwards. We've all had to start over. I've been stripped of my home, my dreams...all that is me. I'm someone else now--broken and changed. Other survivors' memories and emotions haunt me. They invade my mind until I can no longer separate them from my own. I won't let them consume me. I can't. My name is Zoe Cartwright, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.
We've been inseparable for most of our lives, and now our friendship is all we have left. The aftermath of the Virus has stranded us on opposite sides of the United States. Trusting strangers, making sacrifices, killing--we'll do anything to reach one another. Fear and pain may be unavoidable, but we're strong...we're survivors. But to continue surviving in this unfamiliar world plagued by Crazies and strange new abilities, we have to adapt. We have to evolve.
And more than anything, we have to find each other."
First off this book captures you and keeps you until the very end- i wasn't sure i was going to enjoy this book but i ended up loving it, and buying the rest of the series to read!
Follow Dani as she watches the world around her end due to a "flu" virus that wipes out nearly everyone. The ones who survive the virus are changed- they have new abilities, some can feel each persons emotions, others can talk to animals, others can see peoples memories. They will each have to use their new abilities to survive what is left of the world.
The other's who survived the virus and cant handle their abilities are losing their minds- there the crazies. And they will attack anyone they see.
But how did the virus begin? Where did it suddenly come from that it is killing millions of people? Did someone start it or was it created by the government for something bigger?
This is a crazy ride that you won't be able to put down or forget!

The Epidemic
The Program #4
In a world before the Program, Quinn helps people close out their grief. She can mimic anyones actions, speech, smell, everything about that person. Someone close to you died young? Then call the grief department and they will send in a closer to help you say goodbye and get past that part of the grief process so you can begin to heal and move on with your life...
In this last book we were left with Quinn hunting down Arthur to find her identity, In this book Quinn continues her search and finds Arthur's daughter Virginia is in connection with this. Every person Virginia comes into contact with dies, why? Is she the reason the program began or did it begin even before that?
Quinn learns why she can't remember her mom, or anything about her life before she became Quinn. She was sent in to help Tom (her dad) close out Quinns life, but Tom and Marie had different plans, and instead of using this child to help close that gap they turned her into Quinn. Now she is on the run from the grief department because she violated her contract, and they are taking all closers and transitioning them into Handlers.
We follow Quinn and Deacon on their journey to find Virginia, and Arthur the reason all this is happening. Along the journey we find more about what happened to Quinn, how Arthur has used memory manipulation on her, and she is his patient zero. Now he thinks that memory manipulation worked great and begins experimenting on his daughter Virginia. Except his daughter is stronger than he thought and she's remembering things he made her forget. She feels empty, a shell without a soul. One night Quinn is acting as her "friend" they go to a high school party where Virginia goes off and talks to a friend, Micah. While Quinn is standing by watching everyone she notices a young boy Roderick standing alone in the corner acting off. He's the host of the party yet he isn't enjoying one second of it, just the previous week his girlfriend was sent into the mental institution and they dont think she will be let out. Quinn watches in horror and unable to act quick enough as Roderick walks to the balcony and jumps. Quinn and Virginia race out of there, before Virginia leaves she tells Quinn to remind her of tonight if she forgets.
Virginia forgets Quinn, forgets Roderick and soon Micah as well, sadly it seems every one that is friends with Virginia is dying. Why? Is it a virus or is she saying something to them. Meanwhile Arthur is setting his plans in motion to begin the Program, every one under 18 is mandated to attend and be cleansed. Arthur has no idea how badly he is messing his daughter up, he doesn't want to see that every time he is taking a little more of her away.
One night they are hiding out, waiting for Virginia after a meltdown at a Volleyball game, she screamed that she remembered everything and was taken away by her father. Quinn knows she can't leave Virginia behind- so they see her and take her away to talk. Arthur knows who took his daughter, and tells Marie (their advisor) if they dont return his daughter he will issue an Amber Alert.
Deacon has left the motel where they are hiding to get the truth from Marie, but it has been hours, and now Marie called and never mentioned Deacon being there, just that she needs her best closers to come over ASAP.
Quinn, Aaron, Reed, Shep and Tabitha are suppose to be there..Except only Quinn, Read, Aaron and Shep are there. Shep is quickly dismissed by a envelope full of money, we find out that he was comprimsed and is a handler. Tabitha "tabby" is missing, deacon is missing. Arthur? We dont know yet but think so. Quinn and Aaron listen to Marie when she tells them to hide, Arthur is coming and so is the Program. They leave and watch in horror as Reed has been different ever since dropping off Virginia.
Reed can't take what Virginia told him, how she knows what her father has been doing to her, how he's taking away her memories and making her into a new person. He will be doing this to everyone. Reed only has one person he ever cared for and it was his late Girlfriend Katy. (she passed sometime before the book.) He couldn't take not remembering her ever, so before Arthur came with the Program Reed takes his life in the bathroom of the motel while Quinn slams and screams at him from the other side of the door.
Quinn and Aaron are the only ones left, and they are going to do one dumbass plan, go straight to Arthur.
What will happen? Will they escape with Deacon or will the Program take them?

The Remedy
The Program # 3
"The Only Cure for a Broken Heart is the... Remedy."
"In a world before The Program…
Quinlan McKee is a closer. Since the age of seven, Quinn has held the responsibility of providing closure to grieving families with a special skill—she can “become” anyone.
Recommended by grief counselors, Quinn is hired by families to take on the short-term role of a deceased loved one between the ages of fifteen and twenty. She’s not an exact copy, of course, but she wears their clothes and changes her hair, studies them through pictures and videos, and soon, Quinn can act like them, smell like them, and be them for all intents and purposes. But to do her job successfully, she can’t get attached.
Now seventeen, Quinn is deft at recreating herself, sometimes confusing her own past with those of the people she’s portrayed. When she’s given her longest assignment, playing the role of Catalina Barnes, Quinn begins to bond with the deceased girl’s boyfriend. But that’s only the beginning of the complications, especially when Quinn finds out the truth about Catalina’s death. And the epidemic it could start."
Your sucked into this book the moment you begin reading, imagine a world where we could be replaced. A world where someone like Quinn comes in and mimic's everything about us, just so our loved ones can say their good byes or how sorry they are for our death. How would you know who you or anymore? Or even what's real?
We follow Quinn on this journey through every twist and turn, the last assignment she nearly loses herself, but she is brought back, just to question every thing again! The shocking end will have you running to the store for the next book in the series!

Condition Book 2
So this is the second book in the series, you don't have to read book one to follow this one but it helps!
In this book we get transported back into a time when war, nazi's and hitler still ran everything.
The most wanted Nazi in the world is hiding out in a small town, his name is now "uncle Joe" but no one knows who he really is. A young cop is sent there because he's told by his boss that the church is performing abortions and murdering young children. When the cop arrives at this small town, he finds that no one is being murdered but that the town's people, if you can call them that want to report a missing person.
We quickly learn that this "uncle Joe" has been performing horrible procedures on the children of the town, since every child has major facial deformities, along with growth issues.
As we continue throughout the story we learn more about his procedures, and what exactly was done to the children.
Now we fast forward to the year 2026, a miracle cure has began to take place for Alzheimer patients (remember book 1?) well now it is in full production, but many patients after being cured are taking the death with dignity act, which allows them to die whenever they wish. The scientist in charge of this who calls himself Sir John Savage, is working on curing more than Alzheimer patients, he is trying to rehab murder's, rapist, the worst of the worst. His partner has just been arrested for child porn, but he never looked, searched or downloaded child porn, so how did it get onto his computer?
Sir John Savage has what he hopes to be a solution to a lengthy prison sentence, he will perform this procedure to rehabilitate his work partner... Except after the procedure is done, he finds himself amazed by what was done, he can think faster, see the beauty in everyone and everything, do things beyond any human could ever dream.
Fast forward to 2027-2028 Sir John savage is arrested and the court is trying desperately to put him behind bars, except his sister arrives in the court and demands to him that he tell the court who he really is.... I can't ruin anything but it will blow your mind ! Worth the read if you were a fan of book 1 !!

The Stranger Inside Review
"After mystery author Diane Christie loses her husband to suicide, she and her son move to the small coastal town of Fog Harbor, Massachusetts. Her daughter is attending college nearby, and Diane hopes that her family can now begin to heal. But rebuilding their lives after the tragedy isn’t so simple.
Diane’s depressed college-age daughter, Alexa, still avoids her, critical of everything Diane does, and even her generally amiable teenage son, Josh, has started acting out. Diane pushes forward, focusing on her writing and her volunteer work at a local crisis hotline. She knows that healing takes time.
But then a girl from Alexa's college is found strangled. Worse still, the murderer uses the crisis hotline to confess to Diane . . . and claims she is the only one who can stop the killing. And just when the glow of new love from an attractive admirer begins to chase away some of the darkness, more girls turn up dead, and Diane races to solve a mystery she fears will hit terrifyingly close to home." (description from book).
My Review: I found this book to be crazy! While at first it started off a little dull, not as captivating as i was hoping for-- i found by the middle to the end i couldn't put this book down! Once more and more girls are showing up dead- and everyone is becoming a suspect in Diane's life, your dying to know who it actually is! NO SPOILERS- But when you do finally find out who is the killer your in shock because it's the one person you never expected!!
This is a must read for any fan of mystery/suspense!!

Select Review
This book gives you it all! Sci-fi, romance, comedy, suspense and the best cliff hanger ending!! An advance e-book copy was given to me for an honest review- and i fell in love with this book! So it begins with this young girl named Julia and her friends (the lost kids) they call themselves. They have special abilities than make them differ from the outside world- they aren't even aware yet of some of the abilities they have. So we follow Julia throughout the book- how her life gets changed by every choice she makes. Her father is the leader of their community (which is also all supernatural people) they have to hide their talents from outsiders (normal people) because not only do they posse unnatural abilities such as speed, strength, beauty, some also have a talent to control people, things, and even minds. They feel as though they will not only be killed for these things if the real world knew everything about them, but that they would become government test rats. So understandably so, they hid and continue to move and hid every few years. We watch Julia who does nothing wrong- but is made an example out of by her father, sent to a regular school to show she can follow rules and blend in with every day people. During this time she learns to keep to herself until she meets John- who will change her life, she learns amazing new things about herself, about the outside world, and eventually about her "family." The ending is completely unexpected and WOW the cliff hanger it leaves you with. This is number 1 in a series that will be available in october... Until then loves- you must wait and hope you enjoy this as much as i did!!

A Margin of Lust review
Just finished this book- took me about 2-3 days since i found it to be a slow read, i found myself bored at points. While the overall story plot was enjoyable, and interesting, seems like something was missing from the plot.
A murderer is on the loose-killing real estate agents, who show him empty million dollar homes. The main character Gwen is working for one agency, her and her friend happened to be checking out a million dollar home that Gwen just snagged the listing for. While looking throughout the house they stumble upon horror; a murder victim in the master suite-naked. After this Gwen's husband is begging her to take time off, but she is refusing- money is needed, and she loves her job. The murderer keeps insisting that this house belongs to him, and his "sister" is the one who has to pay, this other woman are just baggage that he is taking care of- a public duty. Throughout the book we learn about more woman found dead, and how Gwen and her husband have been pulling apart, a marriage that is about to end. Toward the end of the book we learn the identity of the murderer, and i was surprised by who it is, but just seemed to lack that punch power- the ending seemed rushed at this point- the murderer has Gwen held up in the basement, her husband now aware of his missing wife goes on the hunt and manages to run right into the murderer- then follows him, but somehow loses him. While he suddenly gets a call from a cop friend, they found Gwen's e-card (something real estate agents use to have access to the show homes). Gwen husband now rushes over to that house- sneaks in through an open window and surprise surprise hears Gwen and the murders voice. After a quick struggle he is arrested and they begin to fix their lives.
I felt that during the book their should have been more something- I'm not sure. Just felt that this book lacked that power punch that so many other thriller's give us.
Read for yourself and let me know your thoughts!
** This is book one in the series**
A Beast's Belle Review
Not your typical beauty and beast story! This version takes on the more erotic version, which was great! Belle also known as Isabele in this book worked in her fathers shop, they made various contraptions for many different patrons and for many different reasons. When beast came to the shop for a very particular piece, belle couldn't help herself but wonder what he will be using it for, and began imagining all the different ways to enjoy it. When beast made an offer to her father about belle coming to his mansion to live and work, she made the decision herself, and found it to be her perfect place to fit in. I enjoyed the whole story and the different view on this classic fairy tale. While the ending i was a little disappointed with, i was expecting to read more into Beast and Belle's erotica romance that was just about to begin when the book sadly finished. I do hope another one comes out, and will be buying it, should a second book come out! If you are one who enjoys erotica romance, and a new twist on a classic fairy tale then this is the book for you to read!

The Girl who was Taken Review
WOW! What a twist this book gives you! Very interesting book- in a good way! As i was reading this, points i forgot what i was reading about because we got so involved in the sisters life, and her job that i actually forgot for a few pages that this was about two missing girls, but other than that one point i found the book to be very intriging and thrilling. I kept having different theories run through my head as to who could have kidnapped these girls- when we finally do find out who the "monster" is- you will literally scream "WHAT?!" out loud! I was so shocked, because i never expected that person. That is the best kind of twist, the one you never see coming, and the ending while sad, also didn't expect but understood how it ended. You have to be paying attention to small details to understand the ending, but once you do its an amazing and empowering ending!!

Hellion Review
Hey everyone- so i finished reading- this was a quick, fun and mysterious read.. I loved how it is an erotica novel with tons of mystery involved. This billionaire ex-con is working on renovating a long forgotten mansion that has been within this one family for generations. During the reno- a body and jewels are found. Except a famous missing ring- isn't there... So this woman from D.C. joins the picture, and while she begins a very steamy relationship with the hot ex-con, the mystery of the body and the missing ring begin to unfold. The ending leaves you wanting more, because the cliff-hanger is just as crazy as the book itself. I cannot wait until part 2 of this series comes out because I'm dying to know how this will all unfold.

The last Girl review
Great book overall! Started off a bit slow with an out of work journalist, the story began picking up once Dex met Nick, and was given a lot of money to search for his missing daughter. He finds her in Mexico working with a team looking for an extinct animal. When Dex goes to nicks house, he finds out he has been killed, now things get crazy ! The police are looking at Dex the only suspect, and Dex Just can't let this go, why was maya hiding, and who killed nick? You learn all the reasons why, and the ending just puts a smile on your face. Murder is sometimes the only way to save your family...and yourself.

The Halloween Children review updated 3/14/17
hey guys so this book isn't out yet but I got a advance e copy.. so this book is as scary as the title sounds! I'm only about 700 pages into this almost 3,000 page book and I'm freaked out! It starts off with interviewer and victim so you don't know who is who, very interesting way to start a book. So far I'm just learning about the couple, their children, and some random neighbors in their community complex. But something sinister happens because yet another interview was being conducted with the only surviving victim, hmm wonder what happened? Oh and people are hearing weird noises in the walls, people crying for help, but when looked into, no one and nothing is there. Since it is dark outside and I'm reading, I got a little freaked out! HA! So I will finish tomorrow and post my final thoughts!
This book is to be released in June 2017!
**update: Hey everyone so i finished reading the book, and it only gets scarier as you read on. A very gruesome account begins to unfold, the weird noises? You find out what that was, and now halloween is here and things take a very ominous turn... People are dead, children missing presumed dead, and a father in a asylum. While i found the book interesting and scared the hell out of me, i found the ending to be a little confusing... I had to really think about it, which is great because no book leaves you thinking like that! But like i said a bit confusing because i couldn't quite figure it out until shortly after finishing and thinking about the book itself.. The ending though wasn't as clear as i was hoping it to be, it doesn't explain why this actually happened, why the children, and how come kill everyone? So I'm very interested to see other people's thoughts when this book is released and read how others felt toward the ending.

The Bone Garden Review
This was another one of those random finds, and i swear those are the best kinds of books! This book caught my attention because of the cover, then i read the description and was hooked! This book bounces between Boston 1830's and present time, but you understand when it is 1830 or present time with each chapter. In the beginning of the book we are seeing things through the eyes of this woman named Julia, she is currently working in her garden trying to hack away at a "rock." Very quickly she realizes that it's no rock she is hacking away at but a human skull. While the police are there investagiting they confirm her worst nightmare, that those are human remains, and have been buried there for a long time. They found several things with the body that did not match our time period, and could date them back to the late 1800's-1900's. The book then goes back into 1830's time and we begin to learn about Norris, Rose, Meggie. You learn to fall in love with Norris and Rose, and become part of their adventure in this book. Rose's sister just had a baby Meggie, sadly she dies shortly after childbirth, and now their is a madman killing woman out there, a grave snatcher, and a husband desperate to find the child to sell her off to the highest bidder. You not only hear and follow their story, you learn why so many woman died during this time period, and how things began to change in the medical world for the better.
This was a amazing read, another book that i couldn't put down!
HAPPY READING!

Trapped with my Stepbrothers Review
First off this book is HOT!!! If you enjoy reading erotica, then this is the book for you! It caught my attention from the description: "here’s a storm raging outside. But the one raging in my heart is far worse…
I’ve always had fond memories of my family’s ranch, mostly of the time I’ve spent there with my stepbrothers, Andy and Blair. We’ve always gotten along well, and they’re so hot that I’ve often found myself wondering exactly what was hidden below those dirty farm clothes.
As it turns out, I’m about to find out the answer to that question. A tornado caught us out in the open, forcing us down into an old storm shelter far away from where anyone could hear us scream.
And that’s a good thing. Because trapped in here with my stepbrothers, I just can’t help myself. I have to know what’s it’s like to be with them—both of them—in the dirtiest, most intimate of ways.
I have to let them take me. After all, I never could back down from a dare…"
This caught my attention because in our own naughty heads we all have had thoughts like this, or something similar. The description explains the book perfectly, they are on a ranch outside working when a storm comes in and comes in very quickly. The 3 of them have to take cover in the barn and then thats when things begin to heat up quickly. NO SPOILERS, but as i have said this is a fun quick read, let your mind escape from reality and enjoy yourself with this erotica read! ;)
Her Last Tomorrow Review
So this is a book i stumped upon while browsing barnes and noble, this is by Adam Croft. This book caught my attention right away because right on the cover it states: "Would you kill your wife to save your daughter?" I was immediately intrigued by this and began reading, right away it was very interesting because the main character the husband seemed to hate his wife, and wanted to leave her, maybe even kill her. As the book went on you realized just how crazy a situation he was in, his daughter kidnapped, and a ransom note saying he has X amount of time to kill his wife, or he will never see his daughter again! Could you imagine?! I was like OMG, is he going to do it? What is happening right now and who is doing this to him! I continued to read because i just had to find out how this was going to play out, while the book carried on you find more about this family, and the "crazy" person who kidnapped their daughter. In the end she is save and i won't tell you if he did kill his wife or not, you will just have to read to find out ! Enjoy!!
Woman in Cabin 10
I know this is still a hot book in reader's eyes! I rented this from the library and I'm telling you i had to wait almost 2 months for the book to finally come through! When it did i read this book in 2 days, i couldn't put it down. I was so fascinated with different theories going on in my head throughout the entire book. As many know this book is about a woman who is on this amazing cruise ship, and she borrows something from the woman next door to her cabin, the woman in cabin 10... but then weird things start happening, and she soon realizes no one was ever in that cabin... Is she losing her mind? Is she dead and this is all just a crazy limbo she is in? What is going on?! This was my thoughts throughout the entire book until the very end when we finally are told who and what happened to the woman in cabin 10! I'm telling you i was in shock and the ending never crossed my mind, i couldn't figure out what was happening until it was told to me! This is a must read for any suspense lover!

Stepbrothers in the Attic Review finished!
hey everyone so I'm currently reading stepbrothers in the attic, I'm only on chapter 9 but so far I am enjoying this book ! If you watched or read flowers in the attic then this book will remind you of that story. While this book does take on new age ideas, yes 2017 where most of the world accepts gay couples, marriage and sex. I am very open minded and do not judge anyone based on sexuality so in that note if you are someone who does not have this viewpoint I suggest you don't read this book. Like I said I'm on chapter 9, and so far there have been steamy sex scenes, and an amazing family going through one of the headrest things anyone will ever deal with: death of a loved one. Don't worry not giving any spoilers! This book is fromRiverdale Avenue books, and once I finish I will post an update about my final thoughts, I will also be posting my review on netgalley, bookstr, and goodreads.
UPDATE: hey I have finished reading and OMG I love this book, while at points it did remind me of flowers in the attic, I did not expect the ending! It blew my mind seriously ! An amazing read for anyone who enjoyed flowers in the attic then this needs to be your next read!
Happy Reading 📖!!
