Best Friends Forever

Best Friends Forever is a page turner… You may think you know how this story is going to end. But trust me, you don't.’
Amy Engel, author of The Roanoke Girls
‘Margot Hunt's thriller kept me guessing till the very end.’
Peter Swanson, the Sunday Times Bestselling author of The Kind Worth Killing
Can you ever truly trust your friends?
Alice thought she knew everything about her best friend Kat, from the secrets of her wealthy family to the fact that behind closed doors Kat’s husband Howard is a drunk and a bully.
But now Howard has been found dead, having plunged to his death from the balcony of their highly desirable mansion, and the police are convinced he’s been murdered.
So why in her time of need has Kat stopped answering Alice’s phone calls and texts. Why won’t Kat’s family allow Alice to visit her anymore? And why are the detectives looking directly at Alice in relation to Howard’s death?
Perfect for fans of C.L. Taylor and B A Paris, this fantastic page turning thriller will have you demanding who needs enemies when you’ve got friends like these…

As the description says Alice thought she knew Kat, they have been friends for years, and shared every secret, no matter how horrible or nasty. Suddenly Kat's husband is dead, and the police are at Alice's door... what happened and why the hell isn't Kat answering any calls or texts?

The plot is incredible! There are so many twist and turns, that you never know what is truly going to happen until the very end! I'm telling you this is going to be the hot book of 2018, so go get your copy now!  I am not going to leave spoilers i am just going to tell you again WOW! One crazy fucked up but totally worth every second you will have your head in this twisted, awesome book!

You think you know what is going to happen.. guess again....

You don't ever truly know someone, no matter how long or how many secrets you share...

The Ghostwriters

She's funny, cynical, and kinda crazy, but she knows how to tell a story.

A struggling writer living in Manhattan, Jacy McMasters is the first to admit she's a terrific liar and a screw-up. Then the ghost of the famous novelist JD Balinger asks her to "channel" a follow-up to his classic coming of age book, The Watcher in the Sky. Along with her new boyfriend, a bear of a man who has no patience for mind games, the ghost in Jacy's head forces her to confront a lifetime of secrets—dark secrets. Secrets she's been keeping from herself.

Ok so this is not a ghost story, or even a romance. DO not judge a book by it's cover.

Jacy is a struggling writer, when she is not working she is drinking...ALOT. Most days she wakes up in a strangers bed, with no memory of what exactly happened. And to make matter's worse her pathetic ex keeps coming around because his current girlfriend won't sleep with him, so he keeps coming back to Jacy for one thing and one thing only. This is how we get introduced to Jacy and her wonderful lifestyle of drinking, sex and her attempts at writing which most days are her attempting, failing, and then drinking..

One day Jacy is at the bar, so drunk that she doesn't care anymore, she turns and see's a man sitting at the end staring at her, she looks at him for help- help of any kind, because she is spiraling out of control...
Except when she wakes up the next day she is in her apartment, alone... Suddenly she hears something outside in her living room, when she goes to inspect she finds JD standing there. Quickly we are caught up that JD is dead, he is the ghost of a famous author, who has come to Jacy to write his follow up novel.
So here comes the title of the book- Ghostwriters. Jacy is writing a book for JD, using his style and his words they create what they hope will be the next best seller.

All the while Jacy is still struggling with her family issues, her own mental issues, and her drinking problem.
One night after a long, tiring day with JD she goes out drinking and wakes up in a strangers bed with no memory of the night before. So this is where the book get's cute since they do throw in some romance, apparently the guy she slept with the night before, really likes her and it's more than just sex. He likes who she is, because Jacy was so drunk she doesn't remember that she divulged all her darkest secrets and her fucked up family life.

Throughout the book we learn about her crazy controlling mother, her supportive father, and her loving brother who looks up to Jacy. We think everyone is OK, and Jacy is just overreacting to how things are when she goes home to see her family... The twist at the end will have you shocked, speechless and maybe even crying..

I found the writing in this book to be amazing, and the story not to mention the understory that is shown throughout this book was something that should be carried on for many generations.
You will find mental illness, death, suicide, alcoholism, romance, and much more. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Through the Zombie Glass

Zombies stalk the night. Forget blood and brains. These monsters hunger for human souls. Sadly, they've got mine...
Alice Bell has lost so much. Family. Friends. A home. She thought she had nothing else to give. She was wrong.
After a new zombie attack, strange things begin to happen to her. Mirrors come to life, and the whispers of the dead assault her ears. But the worst? A terrible darkness blooms inside her, urging her to do very wicked things.
She's never needed her team of zombie slayers more, but ultra bad-boy Cole Holland, the leader and her boyfriend, suddenly withdraws from her...from everyone. Now, with her best friend Kat at her side, Ali must kill the zombies, uncover Cole's secret and learn to fight the darkness.
But the clock is ticking...and if she fails at a single task, they're all doomed.

So now were into book 2, and let me tell you so much happens!! Ok first like the description says the zombie's have Alice's soul, well at least part of it. We call her Zombie Ali. So does she defeat Z.A. and how much does it cost her? Oh and something big happens between her and Cole. I won't give too much away but you go from cheering them on as they kill all the zombies, to OMG, to heartbreak and tears. A lot goes down in this book but there is so much left in the story you can't wait to continue the series to find out more. I am already halfway through the next series and will be posting my review in a couple days, but for now i will leave you with this.. Pay attention to the titles in each chapter you may get a sneak peek of what is gonna happen in the chapter ;) !

Alice in Zombieland

She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

If anyone had told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real.

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn't careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

What a wonderful take on Alice in Wonderland! If you are obsessed with zombies, kicking ass and just all things awesome like that then this is the series for you! I read the entire book in a day! Yeah i know a tad crazy- but soon ill be working 12 hour shifts, and school for 6 hours on my days off so i gotta enjoy reading now!

Ok Ok back to the book ! So what i loved about this book was each chapter had fun titles that we would find in Alice in wonderland. What separates this book from the typical remake of Alice is- their is no rabbit hole, no happily ever after, but there is a white rabbit if you count a cloud that forewarns you something horrible will be coming that night... A truly memorizing read from the very beginning to the very end- it is a series with i believe 4 books in total. I was able to get it from my local library so this isn't something you have to go and spend money on if you dont want too. I Know how Expensive Books can Get!! :)

Any questions before starting leave a comment and i will answer right away.. hopefully without giving away too many spoilers ! :)

Spelled (Storymakers Series)

Somewhere over the rainbow, all spell is about to break loose…

Fairy Tale Survival Rule No. 32: If you find yourself at the mercy of a wicked witch, sing a romantic ballad and wait for your Prince Charming to save the day.

Yeah, no thanks. Dorthea is completely princed out. Sure being the crown princess of Emerald has its perks—like Glenda Original ball gowns and Hans Christian Louboutin heels. But a forced marriage to the charming brooding prince Kato is so not what Dorthea had in mind for her enchanted future.

Talk about unhappily ever after.

Trying to fix her prince problem by wishing on a (cursed) star royally backfires, leaving the kingdom in chaos and her parents stuck in some place called “Kansas.” Now it’s up to Dorthea and her pixed off prince to find the mysterious Wizard of Oz and undo the curse…before it releases the wickedest witch of all and spells The End for the world of Story.

Another remake on a classic except this one is amazing ! We all know the story of Dorthea and the wizard of OZ. Except in this story Dorthea is the crown princess of Emerald City, and her parents are king and queen. They are trying to marry her off, except she doesn't want that and keeps turning away every suitor. One night during a party after meeting a very annoying suitor, she manages to finally get away from him, and ends up in the garden where she sees a young girl. The little girl tells her she has a gift for her, it looks like a poorly made child's gift, except the message that came with the gift will change everything... It's a wishing star, and you can only use it when your heart desires something the most. Sadly for Dorthea though she puts it in her dress pocket, and when her parents spring on her that she is to be married to someone they agreed to, she makes a horrible wish... That she never has to deal with her parents again. Suddenly light burst from the gift and when she opens her eyes again, the former ball room is now a war zone, and all different creatures are running around. Belle is now a beast, her former "Prince" is some fur ball animal trying to eat her slipper, and that little girl is walking up to the throne that moments before her parents sat at. Which they are now gone, nothing left except their crowns. That little girl suddenly transforms into the wicked Grey Queen. She only tells Dorthea that she is going to kill her, the queen is smarter than to give away her whole wicked plan. With the help of a friend Dorthea manages to escape for now...

I loved this story because it shows a different side to every fairy tale we ever knew! The wizard of OZ, yeah he's evil! He is actually the Wizard of IS, which is simply putting he is a micmicman, and can transform himself into anything or anybody that is living. Kansas where we all thought Dorthea was from, is a unknown place that her parents ended up in. A truly fun read that you will not be able to put down. There are 3 books in the series and i cannot wait to read them all !

The Girl in the Glass Box

A witch. An apple. A mirror. That's all most people think of when they recall the story of Snow White. But the truth is rarely so simple . What if the Queen wasn't born evil and the princess wasn't always so pure of heart? Is it possible that these two women could have ended up in one another's place? The Girl in the Glass Box tells the story of Agrippine and Genevieve, two women who are not all that different, but who quickly learn that through a series of choices, encounters, and devastating losses that the course of their fates can change in an instant. Through the influences of the people they love and lose, both are redefined as their stories head for a different sort of happily-ever-after.

So this is a new version on Snow white.. We learn more about the evil Queen, where she came from and who she was before becoming the infamous evil queen we all love to hate. She wasn't born evil, rather a simple girl just trying to make her father happy. Her father though saw her as nothing more than a servant and value that he could sell off to expand his kingdom and increase his riches. He sold her off when she was just 18 to marry a king in a neighboring kingdom, he was hoping once she married and produced a son that their kingdom's would unite and expand. The book fast forward 10 years after her marriage so you dont get much back story from the wedding day to the present.

10 years Later: The queen is now evil, she hates Snow, and her husband. The village people and her servants are terrified of her, since she will kill anyone for any reason. She is treating Snow the same way her father treated her. Her magic mirror, contains her mother who was killed by her father and his men for being a witch. So her mother is telling her Snow will be her downfall, and the book continues similar to the original Snow white fairy tale. Except Snow and her love interest Oliver, disappear after Oliver over hears the Queen saying she is going to kill snow white, for her beauty. Once they disappear they begin to race through the woods trying to escape the men now hunting them. Oliver sadly though is taken by the Queen's magical powers and is left unconscious but right before that he tells Snow to keep running no matter what. She tries to hide his body as best as possible but the men find him and drag him back to the Queen. She turns Oliver into a bird that she can control because he will lead her to Snow. Eventually Snow is rescued by five dwarfs, who find her near death after she drank some bad water, and nearly killed her. They help her to get healthy again, and they offer her refuge in their home, since they do not know she is the Queens' Step daughter. Over time Snow learns the basic household cleaning, cooking etc. But the Queen is still hunting her...

Does she find her ? And if she does what happens? I loved the ending since it was a twist on the classic, but a good twist! Enjoy !!

Butterfly Suicide

Butterfly suicide.

The blood on the cafeteria floor has been washed away and the bullet holes plastered over, but those words carved deeply into the back of the worn auditorium chair will always be a reminder for the students of Rockingham High School of what happened there last May. For Stephen Valley, the brother of infamous school shooter Jude Valley, that day is one he will never be allowed to forget—especially since the small town blames him for the loss of the seven students killed in Jude’s rampage. Unfortunately, poverty has a firm grip on his mother’s finances, imprisoning him in the bigoted town with no options to leave.

Monica Monroe, a self proclaimed Theatre Nerd, hates being known only as the sister of Jude Valley’s murdered girlfriend, Simone. Even though she’s never believed Jude killed her sister over a lover’s quarrel, she does blames herself for not seeing what a monster he was. When she is partnered with Stephen for an acting scene in Theatre class, Monica views this as an opportunity to finally get some answers. Being paired with Stephen proves to be dangerous for her emotional well being and her heart. When he is beaten up for being on her street, Monica realizes his life after the actions of Jude has been as traumatic as her own.

Drawn together by tragedy, the two stumble across a shattering secret which threatens to ruin their blossoming romance and destroy their families.

This is a powerful book to read... Not only do you see the after effects of a school shooting, but you follow two victims who each have their own story come together. First is Stephen who is Jude (the school shooter) brother, and how he has to continue living after his brother sits in prison for his crimes. You see how the other students, and even the neighborhood treats him and his mother. They feel like they should have known he was going to do something, and been able to stop him. What we learn throughout the book that even before Jude went into school that day their have been trouble at home, he treated his brother Stephen badly, constantly hitting him, and abusing him in different ways. Even Jude's mother was verbally abused by Jude. They thought it was just his breakup with his girlfriend Simone, but when the truth finally comes out it is a whole lot worse.
Monica is also a victim, her sister was killed that day in the school cafeteria. You learn how she is unable to even go into her sisters room because it's too hard, how she is handling her sisters death, and her love interest who just happens to be Stephen Valley. She can't take the sympathy from everyone at school anymore, her parents are dealing with their own issues so they aren't helping her.
A truly powerful, heartfelt read for anyone who wants to open their eyes to the affects school shooting's or any other act of terrorism, because lets face it that is what it is. You will see that some things cant be stopped or changed no matter how much we think we know someone. They are always hiding something deeper, darker than we can imagine.

Six Little Secrets

Six hidden pasts.
One deadly outcome.
Some secrets never stay hidden for long…
Six teenagers meet in Saturday detention: a brain, a beauty, a cheerleader, a rebel, a recluse and the new girl.
But someone is watching. Someone has made sure that they are all in the same room at the same time. Someone knows that each of them is hiding a terrible secret…
…and by the end of detention, everyone will know the truth.

Modern day Breakfast Club... Six students all in Saturday detention, and all have something to hide. You have the beauty queen, the nerd, the rebel, the kleptomaniac, the student who spends her Saturday's there to study, and the new girl. The teacher watching them has to step away for a moment, and while he's away a message comes over the intercom, "Were going to play a game, find the red slip with your name on it and complete the task... if you dont or tell anyone out of this room, you will face the consequences..." So they all think this is some joke until they find the first red slip with the nerd Teddy's name on it. His task his to find his favorite book, he only has 15 minutes. So they are like okay what is going on, they decide to play along... So teddy goes to find his favorite book and inside is ten $100 bills. He has to burn them... Time runs out and he doesn't do the task, suddenly he hears the alert on his phone, which BTW is locked away in the file cabinet. The alert he heard was set for either a withdrawal or deposit into his bank account. Did he lose everything just now by not burning that money?
While he was inspecting the money to see if it was real he realized only nine of them were, the last one is red with another name on it... What will be the next task and how deadly do the games get?
I managed to finish this book in half a day, and found it fun to read. You didn't know what or who would be next and the task they had to do or else... The twist at the ending was fun when you finally find out who the voice was on the intercom, and also find out who was working with who. Finally when you finally find out everyone's secret you will be surprised to see the facade people put on...

What are you hiding? And what could it cost you?

Cherringham- Scared to Death

When classic horror movie star Basil Coates becomes the victim of a series of scary pranks, the local police put it down to a crazed fan. Just pranks, after all ...
But with Halloween only days away, the spectre of murder suddenly visits the ghostly Coates mansion on the hill outside Cherringham - and Jack and Sarah find themselves caught in a mystery worthy of Basil’s spookiest roles ...
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

This description sounded interesting but once i began to read i found it very difficult and boring to read. While it had an interesting plot, the writing itself was bare. Typical hollywood horror, took place in this actors house (Basil Coates),with things such as snakes, noose hanging, cryptic messages, etc.. all portrayed as just some prank at Basil's expense. Two detectives are called in to investigate, and the book seems to move pretty quickly from here on out, since another message along with a seemingly dangerous snake appears, saying death will arrive tonight. So when that night comes, so does another prank. This one with a wicker man set on fire. BTW all these pranks are from Basil's movie's back in the day when they were popular. Once the wicker man was put out and everyone was sure the house would be safe, they all went inside to find surprise surprise Basil dead on the floor. So the two detectives decide to look into crew members who made the props for his movies, and they find one still alive, who just happens to have a son who  guess what? Is also in the FX special effects business. After speaking with the both of them the two detectives have decided they know what really happened, and the one detective (woman) decides to go and confront him alone, and wait for her son (who's waiting for a ride from a friend) to go to the halloween party she was suppose to meet her fellow detective friend, to go there and pick him up and tell him to go to the Coates mansion. Once she is inside the mansion, everything is deathly quiet, and she is finding her way downstairs to face the killer. I'm making this sound so much more suspenseful than it actually was! I felt this part of the book should have been edge of your seat thriller,  but instead it was like watching a bad horror movie that instead of being scared you literally are laughing at the stupidly of it all! SO i do not recommend this book- but if someone has read it and you feel different tell me why?

Turtles all the way down

Sixteen year old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but theres a hundred thousand dollar reward at stake and her best and most fearless friend, Daisy is eager to investigate. So together they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them Russell Picketts son Davis.
Aza is trying. Trying  to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student,  and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the veer tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

I received this book from GMA the other day when John Green was there, i wasn't sure if i was going to enjoy this book since he has a young following. As i began to read though i found myself unable to stop reading.
While the back story intertwined with Aza's personal struggles, is finding the missing billionaire. Most of  the story is about Aza and the mental issues she is facing. I found this part to be the best, because it is something a lot of young adults, and adults are facing. Thoughts that are not your own, you can't control your mind, and your sucked into this ever tightening spiral of thoughts that take over and control your life. I know from personal experience someone who suffers from something similar, not to the extent Aza does in the book, but thoughts that never stop, a mind that cannot be controlled by our selves. Where as Aza not only feels that she is unable to control what is going on, but she feels as though she is not real, a fictional character being narrated by someone else. That her life does not matter, because everything that is going to happen to her has already been decided by someone else. The extremes she goes to will blow your mind and help you to better understand mental illness.
The title Turtles all the way down is a metaphor that i had to research because i wasn't sure until further into the book, but it pretty much means ""Turtles all the way down" is an expression of the infinite regress problem in cosmology posed by the "unmoved mover" paradox. The metaphor in the anecdote represents a popular notion of the model that Earth is actually flat and is supported on the back of a World Turtle, which itself is propped up by a column of turtles.[1]Questioning what the final turtle might be standing on, the anecdote humorously concludes that it is "turtles all the way down". (taken from Wikipedia).
I loved this metaphor because within itself it deals with the mental illness that Aza deals with, that she cannot find her self within her own body. She is just turtles all the way down.

First Grave on the Right Series

This whole grim reaper thing should have come with a manual.
Or a diagram of some kind.
A flow chart would have been nice.

Charley Davidson is a part-time private investigator and full-time grim reaper. Meaning, she sees dead people. Really. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (like murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely. But what does he want with Charley? And why can't she seem to resist him? And what does she have to lose by giving in?
With scorching-hot tension and high-octane humor, First Grave on the Right is your signpost to paranormal suspense of the highest order.

Right away this book captures your attention, i found myself unable to stop reading! I mean how cool that this bad ass chick is a grim reaper? So not only does she help solve murder cases, help the dead move on, but now she is having some sexy dream guy come to her at night and give her amazing sex, mind blowing orgasms ! But he may not be dead... so how is he appearing to her the grim reaper? This story of who he is will blow your mind! You will be dying to continue the series, there are 11 books in total, i received this one for free for my review. But i can promise you i will be completing the series. Honestly if your into ghost, murder, sex, comedy this book has it all and I'm sure the rest of the series will be just as mind blowing as this one was! PLUS how cute are those shoes?!!

What we Kill

Four lifelong friends wake up in the woods with no memory of how they got there, and no memory of the night before. One has a triangle burn in his arm, another is covered in blood, another is missing his glass eye, and finally another has no pants on. The images of big black eyes and sheep crying keep playing in their heads, but what does that mean? Not to mention their was a serial killer in the town that was just caught, and now they are pulling body after body out of his house. Were they involved in that somehow? Why cant they remember anything they did? What happened??

So this book was an ARC without page proofs, but i found it to be amazing ! You will be dying to get your hands on this book when it is released! I found myself captured from the very first page!
Like how can you wake up and not remember anything? Good kids who dont do drugs or drink, should have no problem remembering where they were the night before, and what they were doing.

As you follow each of the four friends piece together bit by bit of the events they forgot, follow them along a rollercoaster of emotions, and twist and turns to find out this crazy story! You won't believe the twist, and you won't believe what happened to this group of friends! I was gasping out loud and in utter shock when the puzzle pieces finally all come together !

Also the ending is great! I really hope it doesn't change because i loved the question ending; What would you do?
It makes you think of yourself in that situation how would you handle it? Go check this book out ASAP !!

The Bar Code Tattoo

Individuality vs. Conformity

Identity vs. Access

Freedom vs. Control

The bar code tattoo. Everybody's getting it. It will make your life easier, they say. It will hook you in. It will become your identity.

But what if you say no? What if you don't want to become a code? For Kayla, this one choice changes everything. She becomes an outcast in her high school. Dangerous things happen to her family. There's no option but to run...for her life.

This book begins very quickly and captures you till the very end.
I found that you are able to understand how this book goes, if you think about it how far off are we from the bar code tattoo that not only tracks everything you do, but tells you things about your DNA and medical records that you dont even know yet?
This book shows how we evolved from SSN, Drivers License, Credit cards- to future 2020-2025 where the have e-cards, which stored all their money- paper money no longer existed. Cell phones became a thing of the past since everything became electronic. The bar code tattoo became something that anyone who turned 17 would get, at first it wasn't mandatory, but that soon changed. The government was over taken by a company called Global-1 who ran everything from the food you put on your table to your money and even your health. The bar code tattoo was just suppose to store your banking, and ID you except it stored much more than anyone realized.

Follow Kayla along her journey to resist the bar code tattoo and the group she joins called the decoders, watch as people she trust turn their back on her, stab her in the back, and even traitors among them. This story will stay with you and you will be rushing to read the next 2 books in the series, I am currently waiting for the other 2 books from the library. But i will be posting again soon !

After the Ending

Book Series #1

"The Virus spread. Billions died. The Ending began. We may have survived the apocalypse, but the Virus changed us.

When people started getting sick, "they" thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family...they're all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them--with the rest of the world--but I didn't. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I'd ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O'Connor, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.

The Virus changed everything. The world I knew is gone, and life is backwards. We've all had to start over. I've been stripped of my home, my dreams...all that is me. I'm someone else now--broken and changed. Other survivors' memories and emotions haunt me. They invade my mind until I can no longer separate them from my own. I won't let them consume me. I can't. My name is Zoe Cartwright, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.

We've been inseparable for most of our lives, and now our friendship is all we have left. The aftermath of the Virus has stranded us on opposite sides of the United States. Trusting strangers, making sacrifices, killing--we'll do anything to reach one another. Fear and pain may be unavoidable, but we're strong...we're survivors. But to continue surviving in this unfamiliar world plagued by Crazies and strange new abilities, we have to adapt. We have to evolve.

And more than anything, we have to find each other."

First off this book captures you and keeps you until the very end- i wasn't sure i was going to enjoy this book but i ended up loving it, and buying the rest of the series to read!

Follow Dani as she watches the world around her end due to a "flu" virus that wipes out nearly everyone. The ones who survive the virus are changed- they have new abilities, some can feel each persons emotions, others can talk to animals, others can see peoples memories. They will each have to use their new abilities to survive what is left of the world.

The other's who survived the virus and cant handle their abilities are losing their minds- there the crazies. And they will attack anyone they see.

But how did the virus begin? Where did it suddenly come from that it is killing millions of people? Did someone start it or was it created by the government for something bigger?

This is a crazy ride that you won't be able to put down or forget!

Nothing is what it seems in this book!

A midsummer night's scream

R.L. Steins remake on Shakespeare's a midnight summers dream in this funny, horrifying novel.
Follow Claire and her friends, Jake, Annalee, Delia and a few other boys as they remake a sixty year old movie that had a tragic ending causing the production to stop midway and never start again... until now!
The story begins in 1960 your watching Mayham Manor the original, a group of teens get stranded in the forest, decided they need to find a phone, they walk until they come upon a mansion, once inside though things start taking a very dark turn. First the girl Claire is sitting at the massive dining table when she notices the giant swords hanging above, suddenly one drops and takes her hand clean off! Within minutes she is dead, now the teens are freaking out, but they are starving and apparently can't think without food, so the next boy tony finds bread and is going to make toast.. just as he pushes the lever down on the toaster he is electrocuted and dies.. now everyone is scared shitless, they decided they will try to get out through an upstairs window, yeah the front door locked and won't open... suddenly the next teen decides to take the lead and begins rushing up the stairs, only to meet her untimely death, she falls through a hole and breaks her neck, killing her instantly...

Production is put to a stop after since the deaths weren't suppose to really happen, and now 3 kids are dead.
Fast toward 60 years,Clair's dad and Jakes dad are in the movie business in Los Angeles, they decide to remake Mayham Manor with more horror than ever, nothing will go wrong this time right?
I mean it was just all an accident, well with R.L. Stein, nothing is ever what it seems, and adding Shakespeare into the mix you are in for a twisted adventure!

A fun, scary read that will keep you reading all day !
I loved all the twist and turns, and how easy it was to add humor into this horror novel!

P.S. I will post pictures of the book later for you !

Alone

"When her mom inherits an old, crumbling mansion, Seda’s almost excited to spend the summer there. The grounds are beautiful and it’s fun to explore the sprawling house with its creepy rooms and secret passages. Except now her mom wants to renovate, rather than sell the estate—which means they're not going back to the city…or Seda's friends and school.
As the days grow shorter, Seda is filled with dread. They’re about to be cut off from the outside world, and she’s not sure she can handle the solitude or the darkness it brings out in her.
Then a group of teens get stranded near the mansion during a blizzard. Seda has no choice but to offer them shelter, even though she knows danger lurks in the dilapidated mansion—and in herself. And as the snow continues to fall, what Seda fears most is about to become her reality…: (netgalley)

Scary, heart pounding, bloody, a crazy train that holds on until the very end...
We follow Seda in this story since the story is told from her point of view. This creepy old house which she has deemed the "BUG HOUSE" out in the middle of nowhere, her aunt and uncle use to own it and run a murder mystery out of it. Seda just wants to go home to Boston, go back to a normal life, but that dream gets further and further away.
She has 4 younger brother and sisters, who are each a set of twins. Seda was supposedly a twin too, but she absorbed her twin in the room, his name was suppose to be Sawyer. Except Seda can feel sawyer inside her, hear his voice. When she was younger her mother said it was just an imaginary friend, but as Seda grew older she knew Sawyer was real, and was the voice inside her.
A huge snowstorm has just hit, and a group of teens have become stranded on their property. Seda knows she can't let them in the house, because then bad things will happen, so they spend the night out in the cold shed that is far enough away from the house. Except the next day when Seda goes out to get firewood, the young boy she likes is there and sure as shit, her mother comes out and sees the young man, now the group of kids are in the house and Seda is trying hard to stop anything from happening.
Seda's mother decides they need to do something fun, since they missed Halloween, and it's Seda's birthday- so they are going to do a scavenger hunt- except it's going to be gory, and scary as hell...
They are broken up into teams, and dressed in different costumes, everything begins all fun and games until a dark turns begins. The costumes each person picked, well it seems the game just turned real, and how ever they were dressed is how they die.

In the BUG HOUSE, each room has a name and a plaque, of someone who stayed there and died, in the most gruesome way. Seda never thought anything of it until tonight when each person dies in the room, the same way the plaque describes...
Suddenly everyone is dead, except Seda and Heath, the young boy she liked. Her mom, and brothers and sisters are all missing. Seda knows she can't leave without at least knowing if they are dead. So her and Heath begin looking, except suddenly Heath is hurt, and their is someone in the house.... Could Sawyer be real? While looking for bandages for Heath, Seda comes across a note in her mothers handwriting to her aunt. It says thank you for taking care of Sawyer, when he is behaving you can take him out of his restraints, I'm so sorry for doing this but he cannot be allowed to hurt anyone else....
So Sawyer is real?! And now he is loose in the house, and coming for Seda, because she was allowed to live and have a great life...
This book has you on the edge of your seat, and the ending is a total twist, one you never see coming..

Wicked Fallout

Pretty wicked book #2

"Convicted of six murders when she was just fifteen, the notorious Ryann Wilkanson hasn’t been able to act on her darkest, deadliest urges for twelve years. She’s exhausted her appeals and has little hope of ever getting out of prison and back to hunting.

Until a media-hungry legal team mounts a campaign to do the impossible—get her immediately released with a commuted sentence.

Forensic psychiatrist Nancy Clafin has mere weeks to evaluate Ryann’s current mental state against her grisly past to determine if she’s changed. But under the shadow of her own questionable history, it’s not easy to separate her personal life from her professional duty.

At least that’s what Ryann is counting on.

Behind the cold steel doors of a Colorado maximum-security prison, will Nancy find a cold-blooded killer or a newly redeemed woman determined to right her past wrongs?" (netgalley)

I didn't get to read the first series in this book, but you can read this novel as a stand alone.

We follow the now incarnated Ryann, who when she was just 15 years old killed 6 people in cold blood. We find out her father was a cop, one of the police officers searching for this crazed serial killer.

Ryann's lawyers are trying to get her case over turned since she was a minor when this all went down, and her first legal team botched everything up.
She has to meet with a doctor who is doing an evaluation on her to see if she has changed her ways since she was younger.  Except Ryann is a master at this game, she can trick anyone in believing she has changed her ways and she is not that person anymore...

Fast Forward: Ryann gets released and once again at her old ways- she is out for blood- and the first person she comes to see is her doctor's daughter at her own house.

This story had it all, murder, mystery, thrill, and heart pounding page after page. You will be dying for the next series in this book because you can't believe everything that goes down and the ending ahh!!!

Girl without a Face

This story begins with a 17 year old girl named Destiny, who wakes from a car accident with amnesia, she had been driving late at night on a wet road, when all of a sudden she lost control of her car...
She wakes in the hospital with no memory of anything before now- a woman is sitting on the end of her bed, saying she's Mom, but Dez cant remember her, a few days in the hospital, and she is released. She is sent home with mom, but when she gets there nothing feels right, like a stranger in her own home.
Her mother is extremely over protective, she's homeschooled, and not allowed to leave the house or speak to any of the neighbors.
Dez wants her memories back, so while her mother is at work she breaks the rules and goes out. While walking down the road she comes across an alligator (they live extremely close to the everglades in Florida.) Scared frozen, she has to think quickly and makes a run for home, even though her body is still recovering from the car accident. A young man pulls up and says hi, but Dez is too scared and keeps running home.
A few days later she is determined not to stay locked away forever, and decides to go out again, except this time she's more careful, and once again the young man she saw the other day pulls over and says hi to her, since its late at night she cant really see him, and he offers her a ride home since she is now far away.
Over the next few weeks, Dez keeps breaking the rules and sneaking out late at night to meet up with Gabriel, the next door neighbor, she is determined to get her memories back, Gabriel had taken her picture and posted it online, people begin to comment, saying she looks familiar and horrible things such as good riddance.
Her mother is not only over protective but very abusive, Dez was having trouble doing the math homework, and when her mother screamed at her that she knows this and why is she not doing it correctly, dez fought back and her mother smacked her across her face, and ear which had damage from the accident.
Now fearful of her mother she is trying everything to keep her happy, until one night she is washing dishes and drops a glass that breaks, she knows her mother is going to hit her again, but this time she is ready and fights back. She manages to get away from her just in time to see her mother grab a meat tenderizer, and come after her. Dez locks her self away in her room, determined to stay away from her. While the mother is on the other side of the door now crying and begging for her forgiveness.

Since it is now a weekend, her mother is home and Dez is stuck inside all weekend doing things with her, like watching VHS, and knitting.

Things continue this way for a little while, until suddenly Dez remembers the passcode to the phone she has been hiding from her mother, she unlocks it and is amazed by the pictures of this girl, straight her, heavy makeup, it cant be her right? But then she thinks back to all the dreams she has been having since she's awoken, and things start to come back to her.

"Dez" has gotten her memories back, and things are way off in this picture, her mother is not who she says she is, Dez is not who she is told she is, and the craziness and heart pounding adventure begins.
I could not put this book down!
